Sticky Situation

I have been reading about the value of gathering notes on things that interest you, and then doing something with them. I came across a random note that I do not even remember taking about the Boston Molasses Flood of 1919, caused by the catastrophic failure of a storage container of molasses used to make alcohol. Things get described as “slow as molasses,” but apparently it was still fast enough to kill twenty-one people. It does seem to have been another case of a negligent company not taking adequate safety precautions. I have heard that tragedy plus time is comedy.
